FUND RAISING CONCERT featuring the UP SINGING AMBASSADORS

The PJLFI staged a Fund Raising Concert entitled “One Voice, One Heart”, featuring the UP Singing Ambassadors (UPSA) under the leadership of its Founder and Conductor, Mr. Ed Manguiat, last  December 19, 2006 at the Philam Life Auditorium, UN Avenue, Manila.

The UP Singing Ambassadors is a multi-awarded choir recognized both in the country and abroad. Its awards include Aliw Awardee for Best University Choir (2002), Top Entertainer Award and Most Outstanding University Choir in Who’s Who in the Philippines Consumer’s Choice Awards (2004), Grand Prize, 3 First Prizes and Special Awardee in the 5th European Tours and Competitions (2005), and it is also the first and only Asian choir that has won the Grand Prize in the AREZZO 2001 Competitions—considered the toughest of the world’s top six (6) European Choral Competitions.

The UPSA does not only perform, but it also engages in various activities for its Outreach Program such as choral workshops around the country, helping in fund-raising activities for the less privileged, and visits to hospitals, homes for the elderly, and orphanages.

The proceeds of the concert aimed to benefit various projects of the PJLFI.

Sponsors include the P.J. Lhuillier Group of Companies, United Laboratories, Inc. (Unilab), Security Bank, Networld Capital Ventures Inc., Johnson and Johnson (Phils.) Inc., Emerald Headway Distributors, Inc., and San Miguel Corporation.

It had been truly a night filled with uplifting and inspiring music for all the guests, made even more meaningful as it was for a worthy cause.
