The Alay sa Bayan National Can Project, a joint project of the Cebuana Lhuillier Pawnshops, Cintree Management Services, Inc. and the P.J. Lhuillier Group of Companies (PJLGC) spearheaded by the P.J. Lhuilllier Foundation, Inc., commenced last May 7, 2007. Donation cans were placed in all Cebuana Lhuillier branches nationwide as well as in various business branches under the PJLGC. A total of 1,182 cans were distributed.
It capitalizes on making donors feel that they can give to so many charities and help a lot of the needy, no matter how small the amount they give. Every time they give, they will also know who the beneficiaries will be, as these are printed on the donation cans.
The donations will be collected by the end of the fiscal year 2007-2008 and will be distributed equally to the 31 total charitable institutions.
